NYU student needs room with door that locks please

*I am available to meet with most people immediately. I would like to move in on September 2nd, possibly a day or two earlier.*

I'm not very picky about size or amenities; all I'm really looking for is a room to myself and a decent wifi connection for no more than 1100 a month. A mattress would be nice too, but even that isn't essential. I'm looking mainly at Brooklyn, but anything within a shortish subway ride of the NYU campus would be dandy.

I'm a twenty-year-old NYU undergraduate majoring in English and minoring in history. I was born and raised in Seattle, which is where I am now. I'm a responsible and independent person and I like people who are similar. I keep pretty busy with school and work, but in my free time I like drawing, reading, writing, traveling, watching old movies, playing videogames (depending on the game), etc. My personal interests are all very nerdy--both in the actual sense of the word and in the (dare I say it) hipster sense. I'm as capable of geeking out about music, art, history, and science as about Star Wars, Zelda, LOTR, blah blah blah I know I've alienated almost everyone reading this already. Have no fear. It's true that my ideal roommate would be someone I can play Dungeons and Dragons with every week, yes, but I'm usually a very asocial person and I certainly don't need to be best friends with my roommate. In fact, I'd be shocked if we were.

All I would expect of you is to respect my privacy as much as you can be certain I will yours. I'm happy to hang out with you if we truly have similar interests, but I'm equally happy being the withdrawn, misanthropic introvert I am around everyone else on the planet.

A few last selling points: I don't smoke or do any drugs. I'm only a very light drinker. I don't do parties (duh); I rarely have guests (duh). I don't play any instruments or listen to loud music or anything noisy like that. Sometimes I might play videogames, but I always keep the volume down.
