Seeking room to rent in June - in East Bay Area

Single, older woman who is returning to the Bay area in May 2018, after studying abroad in New Zealand for year, seeks a room to rent in the East Bay area. Can afford to pay about $1,000/month (more or less) for rent based on Social Security and pension (and employment, once settled). I have paid off over $200,000 of student loan debt, have good credit and references; am clean, quiet, mature, pay my bills, am co-operative, responsible, mind my own business, don?t smoke, cook all meals, eat meat and drink wine with dinner, don?t party, am straight and try to avoid drama. Before going to NZ I was a Security Guard for Allied Universal and other companies for about 9 years and was a Bay Area homeowner for 15 years. I don?t have pets, plants, children or visitors. I have a truck and would welcome parking space for it. It would be nice to live close to BART and/or UCB.
