- Small or large wanted
Total budget: $600 /month
Description
Hi! I'm Zach. I'm looking for a place to live in Dallas starting early June.
ABOUT ME:
- I don't smoke.
- I don't have pets/kids.
- I am clean/tidy.
- I am sane (I think).
- I am respectful.
- I am a professional with good income, good credit, and a clean legal background. References available upon request.
- I'm college educated with degrees in Environmental Studies and Urban Planning and am job hunting in those fields in Dallas.
- To be clear, as of this posting date I do not yet have a job in Dallas. I am educated and very employable and am actively job searching. I will have a job shortly. If it helps, I can pay the first couple months' rent up front.
- I'm male, but you don't have to be.
- I'm straight, but you don't have to be.
- I'm white, but you don't have to be.
- "Cool" attribute: I have a motorcycle.
- "Nerd" attribute: I fly RC helicopters.
- Michigan native. Now in Oregon. Moving to Dallas for the job market.
- Have been living with roommates for 8 years or so. Spent one year of that time in my own apartment, didn't like it.
- I'm active. I love hiking/camping/biking and do it as often as possible. Always up for an adventure and trying/learning new things.
- Bikes. I like bikes. I have two bicycles and one motorcycle. I'm a bicycle mechanic and have lots of tools and whatnot.
- I also like music. I listen to a lot of music. I spend a lot of time going to see live music. Sometimes, if I'm feeling spunky, I'll create music (guitar or keyboard).
- "The Dude abides." I'm on a bowling league. I really suck at bowling. I'm in the game for the fun of it (-- See: my life.)
- I like to work with my hands; I build things, I fix things, I'm handy around the house. Amateur woodworker. DIY!
- Never been in a fist fight.
- Never broken a bone.
- I like to explore the many flavors of beer.
---------WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR------------
Something at or below $600-650 including utilities.
Take note: I'm pretty flexible and chill, so my ideal housing situation is quite loosely stated and the below is NOT a list of requirements and aren't necessarily in any order. That said, if my *perfect* housing opportunity came along, it might look a little like this:
-- I'm looking for a place ideally by June 1. Could be earlier. Could be later. But June 1 is preferred.
-- Month-to-month would be sweet. 6-month is okay. I'd like to avoid 12-month for now.
-- I would like to live in east Dallas; Lower Greenville/Fair Park/Deep Ellum areas. This is flexible.
-- Indoor (or at least covered) bike parking. As stated, I have bikes and would love to have a safe and protected area to store them.
-- I have one car. Parking would be cool, but is not a requirement.
-- Housemates within 10 years of my age. I don't care how many of you there are or what your skin color or genitalia look like.
-- A moderately communal housemate relationship. Not necessarily looking for weekly meetings or whatever, but maybe we can share a meal together every once in a while. Or maybe we can go hiking or camping together on a nice weekend. Basically, I want to live *with* people in a home, not just as another person filling a room in a house.
-- Additionally, I don't really want to live in a full blown party-every-night house. I'm down with the occasional shindig. At least having the option would be nice. I would also like to be able to stay up after 9pm without feeling like I'm a nuisance.
-- If there is a work space (garage/shed) that I could use for woodworking or other shop use, that would be amazing. I might even be willing to pay extra for this if it's available.
-- A house > an apartment.
-- Yards are great. Especially back yards with fire pits. :-)
-- A room large enough for a queen size bed, a dresser, and a small table/desk with a bit of room to spare. South facing windows are a plus. Closets are nice, too.
-- Some respectable degree of cleanliness. I'm not anal retentive about it, but I'm at my best in a clutter-free and filth-free environment. I like the place to be presentable enough to be able to invite friends or family over on occasion without needing to devote a whole day to cleaning the house first. I clean up after myself and (try to) not clutter shared spaces with my personal effects, and expect a bit of the same from house mates. I particularly enjoy sparkly clean kitchens and bathrooms :-)
-- Speaking of kitchens, I would like to be able to cook along side a roommate who is also cooking their own meal without intimately learning things about their body. Also, a dishwashers are always a nice bonus!
-- An in-unit, no charge washer and dryer set would be most wonderful.
-- If you have pets, that's cool, just don't expect me to take care of them for you ;-)
Okie dokie. Give me a shout if you think I could be good fit in your home!
Thanks for your time and interest! Let me know if you have any questions.
