Room/roommates wanted in NYC

Hi! I'm Preksha, 27y old. I'm an incoming PhD student in Public Policy at NYU. Originally from Delhi, India, I moved to the states in 2019 for a master's, and have been working here since. I have lived in Boston and DC, and now am excited to move to NYC. I'm pretty clean (especially in shared spaces), easygoing, and respectful as a roommate. I would describe myself as an ambivert - I like socializing but then also need time to recharge by myself. In my free time, I really like to go out but some days are just meant for spending quality time with the bed/couch haha! When going out, I love to try new restaurants and cafes (a bit of a foodie and coffee snob), hang out in museums, catch up with friends, go dancing, and go for long walks/hikes when the weather permits. When staying in, I like to cook/bake, watch TV, plan board game nights, or sometimes just catch up on sleep. I don't have pets of my own but I love animals!

In my living situation, I'm looking for a clean, kind, communicative, and respectful roommate. Prefer to not bring the party home but absolutely okay with the occasional get togethers. I also prefer a smoke free environment. Other than that, I'm pretty easy, and can adapt to different living situations -- I have previously developed close friendships with my roommates (in Boston) and equally comfortable with roommates having independent lives but hanging out/chatting occasionally in common areas (in DC). My personal preference would be to have a good friendship with my roommate(s), a friendly face to come home to and chat about my day/life with, and perhaps make plans to do fun things together over the weekend (for the extrovert part of my personality), while obviously respecting personal space and boundaries (the introvert part of my personality def needs that). I'm going to have a very busy schedule so will probably be out in school or studying at home though.
