Description
I am a teacher. Pretty laid back and usually focused on lesson planning or some other type of work. When school is in session, I am gone for 12 hours of the day, sometimes longer, as I am also pursuing my Masters. Given my schedule, I most likely will not interact with you very much when I am home. Small talk is painstaking.
The apartment is actually a one-bedroom, with the living room space available for occupation. Please note that the space is closed off only by long curtains, so you are sacrificing a bit of privacy by electing to live here. Although, again, I am rarely here, and when I am I'll be in my room.
The space is large. As you can see, it has a few pieces of furniture in it already, which can be removed if you'd prefer.
What is most important to me is that the space is clean and remains clean. Roaches are generally a problem in pre-war apartments in NYC. Not in this one! I make sure to keep the kitchen clean and not leave out anything food-related that could attract pests or rodents. Cleanliness is of prime importance in the tenant. A lack thereof will result in my asking you to leave ASAP. I had a SpareRoom tenant move in August and had to ask him to leave by the end of October because he continued to leave food out, even after several warnings.
The apartment is located across the street from Van Cartlandt Park, so if you're into long walks or runs, it's a nice perk. The only train that comes into the area is the 1 (last stop), which takes about 40 minutes to get to 116th Street, and about an hour to get to Downtown Manhattan. If you're a driver, you have easy access to the Henry Hudson and Route 87.
There are several local supermarkets in the area for your shopping needs, and also several gyms in the area (Blink, Planet Fitness, Retro Fitness).
I've lived in the building for several years and have not had issues with my neighbors, as I am a quiet tenant. The floor is much of the same.
Finally, I don't allow cigarette smoking inside the apartment
