ABOUT THIS LISTING
Hi, thanks for your interest. The room is available month to month or longer term. But I strongly prefer a long-term renter who will stay for the full year lease term: Sep 1, 2020 thru Aug 31, 2021.

The large, furnished master bedroom in this apartment is available September 1, 2020. It comes with a bed, desk, and window AC unit. There is a medium sized closet in the room, and the 6' southern facing window allows ample indirect (and never direct) sunlight into the room. The entire apartment overlooks the garden side backyards of other buildings, and so is sheltered from the general noise of the street. The space is very quiet and peaceful.

There is abundant natural sunlight at most hours of the day in the living room/kitchen area, with two 6' windows and two skylights. Hardwood floors throughout. I just bought new living room furniture from west elm that arrived Tues. (hopefully I'm able to add updated photos before the listings project publishing cutoff). Utilities (gas and electric) and internet are not included in the rent, and cleaning would either be handled by ourselves personally, or we could hire a service.

There is a washer/dryer room available in a sister building across the street, which is owned by the same management company. There is never an issue with waiting for W/D units, apart from peak Sunday hours. In this same sister building, there is a gym, a yoga room, a film room, a lounge with big screen TV and pool table, as well as two fantastic rooftops with panoramic views of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

You'll be sharing the place with Kevin. I'm a 30 year old straight male. Interests at the moment are the French language, rock climbing, and surfing. I don't drink or party much; I mostly stay active. I do cook quite a bit at home. I like meeting new people and being social, and would consider the apartment as much yours as mine. I work a typical 8am-6pm office job, so the place would be yours throughout the weekday if you hold a nonconventional work schedule. I will be working in an office in the Financial District before your September move-in. I would further describe myself as relaxed, clean, and minimalist. I'm open to living with anyone who is respectful, clean, and friendly.

The neighborhood itself is very walkable, Fort Greene park for example is about 20 minutes by foot. There are a lot of caf?s, restaurants, and bars in the vicinity; there is a grocery store on the western edge of the block, a Family Dollar three blocks west, a Citibike station across the street to the east, a Vegan grocery store two blocks south, and a Chase bank branch one block west. By subway, there is a Whole Foods 365 three stops away on the G at Fulton, and a Trader Joes five stops away on the G at Bergen.

The G train that is precisely 600ft away from the building is super convenient (see picture), and if you're not familiar, takes you easily into Manhattan via the L at Lorimer/Metropolitan, the E/M/7 at Court Square, the A/C at Hoyt-Schermerhorn, and the F at Bergen. The C train at Nostrand is also a 15 min walk south.

ABOUT THIS LISTER
I enjoy being healthy and active. I spend a lot of my free time rock climbing, surfing, doing yoga, visiting museums, and learning French. Professionally I'm the head accountant at a quant fund, and applying to law schools for Fall 2021.

RENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The room is available September 1, 2020. I am still working from home for the next few weeks, so we can make an appointment to see the apartment generally at anytime, weekday or weekend.

To move in, I'd need the first month's rent, and a security deposit equal to one full month's rent. The following months' rent going forward would be due on the first of each month, which is also when I pay the rent to management.

I'd need a month's notice to move out, to give me time to find a replacement.
