Description
Hey! We have one large bright room with its own half-bath available in our spacious apartment (with massive garden) and are looking for someone lovely to join us!
THE ROOM:
The room up for grabs is bright and big enough to fit a full-sized bed, a desk and still have lots of floor space left over. It comes with a large built-in closet and can also come partly furnished with a bed and chest of drawers for cheap, if you're interested. It faces the street, but our block is quiet and entirely residential so street noise has never been a problem.
Another plus is that the room is on the other side of the apartment from the other bedrooms, which means you get a lot more privacy, and it comes with its own half-bath with toilet and sink, which is great for storing all your bathroom stuff.
THE LOCATION:
Our apartment is in a small three-storey building on a quiet street on the border of North Williamsburg and Greenpoint, near lots of great restaurants, cafes, shops and just a short walk from McCarren Park! I fell in love with this area when I first came to New York and you will too - it's peaceful (fewer sirens than Manhattan and you can see the sky!) while also being close walking distance to all the fun you could want in Brooklyn.
Closest transport is either the Graham Ave L (under 15 mins to Manhattan) or the Nassau G, and we're also near a Citibike stop if you fancy getting some exercise in on your commute.
THE APARTMENT:
The apartment itself is a four bedroom with a spacious open kitchen and living room. Aside from your half-bath, there's also a full bathroom with shower and tub (I've had a bath in that tub before and it feels like such a luxury in New York!). We also have a huge beautiful garden with a grill, which is a big asset when warmer weather comes around.
THE ADMIN:
We're looking for someone who can move in between 21st December and 1st January at the latest, and commit to staying til end of August next year (after that point you can choose to renew the lease with the landlord if you want). Bills come to around $50 a month and heat is included in the rent so the apartment is pretty warm year-round.
THE ROOMMATES:
There are three of us staying in the apartment: Zoe (me), Abby and Jamie. I'm 28 (nearly 29) and a documentary filmmaker originally from London, now loving living in New York. Outside of work, I love going to the Brooklyn Yoga to the People (just a 15 min walk away!), re-watching Broad City, and spending too much money exploring bars/restaurants around NY.
Abby is 23, a writer from Seattle and a vintage clothes fiend who loves Bruce Springsteen more than anyone else in the world.
Jamie is 25 and a recent arrival from Manchester, England. A former teacher and current grad student in bioethics who loves bad dad jokes and Lorde. If you can score him tickets to Hamilton, you?re golden.
Send us a message with a bit of info about yourself and we can set up a time to come see the space!
