Large room in 2BR/1BR apartment on Washington Ave. in Prospect Heights. Start date is somewhat flexible but aiming for April 1 or May 1, with the lease running through August 31st of this year. I would not be giving this place up if life didn?t dictate my leaving the state. Very close to several trains, and into lower Manhattan in ~30 mins door-to-door. Very accessible even without trains ? short Uber/Lyft, nearby Citi Bike to get around BK. Close to tons of awesome bars and restaurants on Franklin, Vanderbilt, Flatbush. Just a few minutes walking to Prospect Park for all your warm weather needs (great place for a run, picnic, dog/people watching, etc.)!
No fee, potential flexibility with start / end dates. Will require standard proof of income (e. g., letter of employment, pay stubs), etc. as is the case everywhere.
Details:
The room: One of the larger rooms I saw in Brooklyn when looking - easily fits queen bed (does currently), would likely fit a king, with room to spare for other furniture. Bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment, so gives a great deal of privacy. Has a large closet with ample hanging and ground storage space. Two large windows bringing in plenty of natural light. Ceiling fan (great in warmer months) with great lighting. Very high ceilings, making things feel even bigger.
The apartment: Top floor (see: high ceilings and no noisy neighbor noise) of brownstone off Washington Ave. ? one of only two units in the building (third ?unit? on ground floor is business). Common space is cozy but has more than enough room for all the typical furniture. Common areas come mostly furnished. Bathroom is clean, has great water pressure and hot water (new boiler installed last year), and has more than enough storage for toiletries, etc. Landlord is very reasonable and easy to work with ? runs the business on the first floor, so is responsive and available quickly. Responsible for heat, electric, internet/streaming tv - ~$75/person, but will jump with AC use in summer (personally didn?t use one last summer/fall). Well insulated brick building ? we?ve hardly had to use the heat this winter, even during the frigid single digit days
The location: 5-minute walk to 2/3 trains at Eastern Pkwy / Brooklyn Museum, 10-minute walk to C train at Clinton / Washington, 10-minute walk to B/Q at 7th Ave. A few minutes walking to Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Library, Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Prospect Park! Equidistant (5 ? 10 min walk) from amazing bars and restaurants on Franklin Ave. or Vanderbilt / Flatbush. Great bodega across the street with the best bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches (only $4, too). Two grocery stores within 5 mins walk (one is just a block away). Many laundry facilities, including a 24-hour self-service facility, within a block or so (one on same block does same-day wash and fold for $1/lb)
The roommate: Late 20?s professional male, works in entertainment PR on a typical 9-5 type schedule. Spends a good deal of time out and about, but sociable, pleasant, fun, clean/tidy, and all-around good dude ? one of the nicest people I known for some time now
You: Responsible, clean, respectful person with good credit and a steady income. Simple stuff, really. If interested, send a note with a bit about you (e. g., occupation, interests, timeline).
