Besides your own large private space, you'll also share: wonderful yard, nice front patio including classic Park Slope stoop stairs perfect for morning coffee or people watching, entry foyer with coat and shoe storage, spacious kitchen, bike storage.

There is also a basement available for storage at a reasonable additional monthly fee.

You'll share 1st floor bathroom with 1 other bedroom occupant(s) (and in the odd moments that the 1st floor bathroom is occupied when you need it, you can pop upstairs to the 2nd floor bathroom)

YOUR PERSONAL SPACE:

This is essentially a large furnished alcove studio including a great closet and 2 windows.

The studio-like room measures approx 25' by 12' and features an alcove sleeping nook

Room offered simply furnished or unfurnished.

The cedar closet is very big - 68" wide and has a 20" top shelf running the width of the closet with space up to the ceiling

Room gets good natural light through 2 windows, on a quiet and peaceful residential block with good considerate neighbors, and this room is located below a shoes-off bedroom/home office.

Super close to Prospect Park, tons of great restaurants and stores, Atlantic Terminal Mall (Target and other conveniences), Park Slope Food Co-op, Whole Foods

Location is fantastic - closest train (5 min walk) to R at Union

I am a female in my mid-forties and work as a social impact entrepreneur in the well-being world as well as the HR/business world. I specialize in facilitating and coaching teams, groups and communities so they have relationships rooted in trust, belonging, depth and meaningful connection. I am friendly, emotionally-intelligent, favor good communication and thoughtfulness.

Housemate #2 Make yourself at home -

Housemate #3 & #4: I'm currently offering another first floor room and a second floor bedroom as well. The additional first floor bedroom is a 12x12 room, nice original wood floors and facing the backyard, on the same floor as your room will be. Sharing bathroom. The second floor room is a 12X12 2nd floor bedroom. Super high ceilings, big ceiling fan, 2 huge windows that get tons of sun. Share bathroom with me - great shower and seperate bath. Both of these rooms are available month to month starting 8/25 (furnished or unfurnished).

ME AND COVID19 -

My business slowed dramatically and I am pivoting to work more online and to solicit different clients who are able/willing to do so. I spend most time at home either in my room, on the stoop, or in the yard. I have limited my in-person engagement with others to the person I'm dating (who has kids and is very cautious), infrequent smartly distanced socializing in Prospect Park with a couple local friends, infrequent grocery trips and infrequent eat-outside at the few places that give as much space between patrons as I feel comfortable with, 1-2 morning (masked) walks per week with 1 neighborhood friend each walk, and have just started opening up my connection with others to include carefully vetted outdoor, spacious, smartly managed small gatherings of 5-15 spread out friends. I am considering hosting an experimental gathering in our large yard with people I trust to keep their masks on, keep appropriate distance from each other, and to follow protocols re: food and beverages.

YOU AND COVID19-

I want to live with someone who has a similar approach to managing COVID. Who will proactively be mindful of keeping all household members minimally exposed to risks.

Because social contact is so limited right now, ideally, my incoming housemate(s) would like to chat or get to know each other. Occasionally have a walk or sit on the stoop together. It's not required that you want that too, but certainly would be a pleasant lifestyle bonus for me.

DETAILS FOR THE STUDIO-LIKE ROOM:

$1400 rent, available August 30, $160 for utilities like internet, electric for A/Cs, thorough cleaning service, and household supplies like dish soap etc.


We require security deposit for coverage of potential damages/late rent/overdue utilities etc. $1600

DEAL BREAKERS:

No Pets.
No smoking.
No hard drugs.
No smoking or drug-using pets. :)
(Please don't write to me asking if the pet policy is flexible. It's in our lease and the landlord is not wavering.)

Habits that wouldn't be a fit::

x Drinking as a lifestyle / drugs

x Passive-aggressiveness or hostility

x Romantic Partner spending more than a couple nights over per week.

x One-night-stand lifestyle / strangers in house

(note - for me to be comfortable with you having romantic partner or friends in the house during COVID, we'd need to come to agreements about our own minimum expectations to determine who is or isn't invited in)
