Huge Room in 2-br Queer/Vegan Apt Available 2/1

OFFERING: Partially furnished flexible room available for sublet in 2-br Bushwick apartment for $1175 including utilities. Room is available March 1st and move-out must be by September 1st but can be earlier, save for June 1st as I will likely be traveling around the end of May.

Room is for one person without any pets as there is one awesome kitty here already!

Accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible as the unit is located on the second floor of a 3-story building and is up one flight of stairs with 15 steps and no elevator.

Location: 6 blocks from the Halsey L (3 long, 3 short) and 9 blocks from Myrtle-Wyckoff L/M (3 long, 6 short). Right off the B60 and very close to the B26 and B52 bus lines.

The room: The room is gigantic at about 12 x 13 feet, not including the spacious closet! Located in the back of the apartment, the room faces out to a serene scene of trees, birds, and shrubbery. As the floors are quite thin, the room must have a rug (which I plan on providing unless whoever moves in already has one). A number of brand new things have been acquired for the room that are unopened in case someone has some of their own stuff they'd like to move in. There is currently a brand new eco-friendly KEETSA Plus mattress, Buffy comforter/duvet cover, Crate and Barrel pillows/sheets/towel, IKEA Koppang dresser, and Billy bookshelf and I plan on getting a desk/chair as well. There is already a full-sized IKEA Malm bed frame (which can be removed if absolutely needed though I'd prefer to keep it for now).

No credit check required but roommate/landlord references are a must. First month’s rent plus security must be paid upon move-in.

The neighborhood: On the quieter side for NYC and filled with a mix of families who've been here for years and transplants. There are multiple options for groceries, food, entertainment, and laundry very close by.

Amenities: Apartment is furnished with a guest futon, dining table, kitchen island, and sofa chairs. There's also a portable washing machine (with a broken spin dryer) but laundry only a few blocks away! Kitchen also has an Instant Pot and food processor you’re welcome to use for vegan recipes. I have my own pots and pans and request that you do as well!

About me: I'm a 34-year old queer Jew who sells renewable energy and occasionally takes photos for work! I’ve been in NYC for nearly ten years now and am originally from the Bay Area. I work about 4 days a week out of the apartment and spend about as much time away from home as I do at home. I am a longtime vegan who doesn’t smoke/barely drinks and hardly has anyone over and would highly prefer living with someone on a similar wavelength. In my spare time I enjoy going to concerts, reading, cooking, going out to eat with my friends, and exploring the city/beyond!

About you: you’re friendly, value direct communication, don’t bring the party home, clean up after yourself, and love cats! You also think that not washing your hands after you go to the bathroom and wearing shoes around the house is gross. Ideally, I’d like to live with someone who’s in their mid-late 20’s-30’s. Strong preference to those who are vegan-leaning as well!

COVID Safety: I am fully vaccinated and ideally you would be as well. I mask up when I’m in large crowded areas but do not test regularly.
