1 Bed in 2Bed/1bath Apartment

Looking for a long-term roommate to take over a small bedroom in a 2 bed/1 bath apartment starting March 1. Rent is $1100 a month, Utilities run about $75-100 (ConEd/Spectrum/National Grid) The owner requires renters insurance (my policy is for about $15/month) and one month security deposit. Credit check is also required.

The room is cozy but will fit a full sized bed and one or two other pieces of furniture. It has a full closet with extra shelves for storage, a large window with great morning light and a working ceiling fan. The apartment is on the second and top floor of a brooklyn brownstone that is basic but clean and cared for. Kitchen is sizable with plenty of counter and cabinet space and the shared bathroom has extra storage and a full shower/tub combo with great water pressure. We?ve had the lease for 10 years now so we have a good relationship with the owner who is responsive to any issues. The owner does live directly below us so this isn?t an ideal apartment for frequent house parties.

Common room furnishings are open to discussion if you have things you?d like to bring, otherwise it can come mostly furnished. Bedroom would be unfurnished but the person moving out may have a desk or dresser available for purchase.

The location is amazing with less than a 5 min walk to the Smith & 9th F/G stop with plenty of buses available as well. All the essentials are within 5min walk including a grocery store, laundry, wine store, restaurants (Buttermilk Channel, Frankies, F&F Pizzaria, Ugly Baby, Otherhalf Brewery, Abilene & bagels, sushi, chinese takeout, and plenty of bars) coffee shops, yoga, and various fitness studios. It?s a quick commute to nearly anywhere in Brooklyn (20 min to Ft. Greene/Atlantic Barclays, 35 min to Williamsburg) and Manhattan (30 minutes to downtown, 40 min to midtown).

I?m a woman in my early 30s working a pretty regular schedule (10-6 M-F) at a non profit in manhattan and like to keep busy on weekends. I?m clean and considerate and tend to keep pretty quiet at home. Hobbies include theater, yoga, cooking and occasional netflix bingeing.

I?m looking for a roommate who is employed full time or a grad student with an active life outside of the apartment. It?s a pretty small space so it might not be a good fit for someone who works exclusively from home. Cleanliness, communication, and willing to contribute to a shared home are key. I like being friendly with roommates with shared interests but also value privacy. No smoking in the apartment. Pets are allowed on approval with additional deposit.
