The room is the second bedroom in our two bedroom/two bath apartment in a very well-maintained, secure building.

It is approximately 10' x14', has two windows, a closet, full-sized bed, bookshelves, dresser and air conditioner.

The renter would have primary use of the bathroom just across from the bedroom. The kitchen and living room are available to share as well, .

There is a laundry center in the building. Utilities are included; water, heat, electricity and wireless internet (This is a value of a minimum of $200.00 per month, if we separated the charges.)

We are located in Downtown Brooklyn, MetroTech area, on the edge of Fort Greene.

The neighborhood is safe and busy; has restaurants, shopping and entertainment venues, including City Point right across Flatbush Ave. Ext. with Century 21, Target, Trader Joe's, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and DeKalb Market Hall, among many other options in the same building .

We are close to all subway lines. (a one or three block walk, depending on which one you need).

We are a married couple. My husband is a retired graphic designer and I am a Clinical Social Worker, semi-retired but still maintain a private practice.?

While we usually spend a considerable amount of time at home, we also have many interests; are active in the community; enjoy visiting and being visited by friends, neighbors, and family.?We have needed to modify our activities due to the COVID-19 Pandemic/

Over time we have had cats and dogs, two of them, assistance dogs,

Last Summer it became necessary to euthanize my assistance dog,, so at the moment there are no animals in residence, but we have not ruled out another, given the appropriate circumstances.

Our ideal renter is e a responsible individual, (couples will be also be considered) who pays rent on time, communicates clearly, maintains the room in good order. is engaged in work or school for the better part of the day. and has interests in areas beyond that.

We have had male and female renters and they have ranged in age between 23 and 35. Their occupations included medical and dental students, financial service providers, electronic and computer engineers, with a wide range of outside interests,

Levels of social interaction have varied. Some have chatted casually, others shared more about home, family, work and still others would simply exchange greetings and pertinent information, then just come and go. Any of those communication styles were and are fine with us, as long as there is mutual respect.

Beyond occupation, age or communication style, the most important thing to us in choosing a person to share our space, is finding a compatible personality. We believe in maintaining open and ongoing communication and want to trust that any concerns or issues that might arise, are discussed and dealt with before they escalate into problems.
