Live with Us in Community -Giant Victorian House

We started, what became known as The Lighthouse now over 8 years ago, with the intention of co-creating a kind of intentional living situation, more or less focused around personal growth, conscious living, meditation yoga, mindful communication/'authentic relating' etc, which took shape in the form of a giant beautiful Victorian home in this incredibly beautiful, (but not so well known neighborhood), called Ditmas Park.
The House: 
The house is very old (built in 1901) large Victorian House that is very open and spacious which has a large kitchen, dining room, living room, three large refrigerators, laundry room with washer and dryer, gas fireplace, 5 bathrooms (4 with showers) and even a small bathtub Jacuzzi!
We also have a large wrap around porch with plenty of space to sit outside and enjoy the neighborhood. We are right now in the process of building a large garden in the back of the house where we are growing vegetables and many different other kinds of plants inside and out with the intention of developing a kindof ‘homestead’ here.
We have lots of space to create art and all kinds of other projects and we’re working on building a beautiful backyard garden area and love collaborating and learning from others especially related to gardening/growing food, sustainability and especially permaculture design!
We also have a fire pit where we have music nights and bbq’s (especially in summer :) around the fire and lots of other similar types of gatherings (Right now outside and socially distanced of course!)
The Rooms: 
We currently have two large, (one gigantic) beautiful, super sunny, spacious, rooms available for December 1st and December 15th 2021 and also January 1st, 2022 and January 15th, 2022. (Shorter term sublets are also available)
They are can each be fully furnished with dressers, large Queen or possibly King size bed, desk, chairs, couch, and drawers. The prices range from is $1200 to $1500 with the largest being of 650 square feet, like almost the whole floor.
The Neighborhood: 
For those who know, know the jewel that is Ditmas Park, our tree lined block feels a lot like you’re someplace other than NYC or Brooklyn with its giant Victorian homes. We’re just a few blocks from the Q and B express train at Newkirk Plaza and Avenue H. Which takes about 35 minutes to Union Square in Manhattan. And just a short walk to Courtelyou Rd, with its many restaurants, bars and the Flatbush Food Co-op.

More About Us: 
We come from all different backgrounds including: professionals of different kinds, entrepreneurs as well as artists, musicians, gardeners, yogis, meditators, dancers etc etc. We value different forms of personal development, and love living with others who are interested in these types of pursuits or who are open/interested in learning more.

We are generally looking for people who are reliable, are able to pay there rent on time, and who are good communicators, who are generally interested in their own personal development, self discovery and/or who are open to/interested in those types of pursuits and who would enjoy living in a supportive community of creative and inspired people.
