Description
2 newly renovated rooms 12 x 14 ft each (Total 24x14) 4 windows, 12 outlets, tall ceilings, new hardwood flrs, 1 block from Brooklyn College. $1500/month (1 month rent + 1 month security) electric included.
25 min to Manhattan via Q-train. Near Buses, laundry, Target, Food Coop.
Non-smoker/Non-drinker/No pets(except functional cats that slay occasional intruders. No cats allowed that play and let them go! Lol)
Basic house rules: No smoking or vaping. Please flush with the seat down, water can spray up to 6 ft. Don’t flush paper towel, trash, tampons or anything other than poo, pee & non-excessive toilet paper. If it clogs & can’t get unclogged right away, we only have 1.
I have chemical sensitivity, so no plug in air fresheners/fragrances from petrochemicals/smudging or burning incense or candles. They emit PM & VOCs; forms of indoor air pollution which worsens indoor air quality. Long term exposure or exposure in large doses can be detrimental to your health, w/ VOCs capable of damaging your kidneys, liver & nervous system, as well as causing cancer. It’s better to eliminate odor at its source.
Sweep/mop/wipe counters/toaster oven clean of crumbs/grease to keep rodents/roaches away(This is NYC, the cleaner you are, the better for us all), keep tub/toilet/sink regularly cleaned/free of clumps of hair in the drains & I’ll be a happy camper.
I leave shared areas that I use, as clean as I found it, often cleaner.
Cleaning hack: An Ecos dish soap & baking soda paste will clean just about anything & often cheaper than toxic commercial chemical cleaners.
I prefer basic, natural cleaning products that are free of SLS, dyes & synthetic fragrances, whenevever possible.
*No outside shoes in the apartment; you may use house slippers.
About me: I like organic food, rest, minimalism, rechargeable batteries, recycling, fresh air, plants, zero emissions, zero waste, bike, board, scoot & say no to plastic/fossil fuels when I can. I like conservation & stewardship.
I almost never have overnight guests and prefer to keep the party outside.
If you are handy w/ tools, can do light plumbing, house repairs & love to help, I’d love to hear from you! Likewise, I am here to help you! Good luck & thanks for reading to the end! It's important to find a roommate with similar lifestyles and living preferences. Happy hunting! =)
