Large room in 2br 1.5 bath with beautiful backyard

1 bedroom in a 2 bedroom/1.5 bath available for rent in Fort Greene, Brooklyn starting May 1st. This is a new lease, so looking for someone that can commit to a year (or more!) I've lived here for 2 years, and my roommate has decided they want to move closer to work, so looking for someone else to share this amazing apartment with.

Fort Greene is a residential neighborhood, so it stays pretty quiet on the block, but there are tons of fun restaurants and bars nearby, with loads of personality. Fulton street and Dekalb especially have true gems. There’s a HUGE grocery store and a Target about 10 min away, and both a Whole Foods and the Trader Joe’s at City Point within a short walk (but there’s also a bus if you’re carrying something heavy)

For transportation, the C train is about 4 min away, and the 2, 3, 4, 5 B, D, N, Q, R are all about 10 min away at the Atlantic Ave Barclays stop.

The room is easily big enough for a queen bed, a good-sized desk, and a dresser or a few bookshelves. It also has a well proportioned closet, with built-in shelving, so storage should not be an issue. It also comes with an individually controllable in-wall AC unit, and has baseboard heating.

The living room is very large, able to fit a full tv stand, a giant sectional, a dining room table, and a desk without much issue. In the pre-covid times, we could comfortably have 10+ person gatherings without feeling cramped. It also has access to an absolutely gorgeous, quiet backyard. It is its own peaceful getaway to sit out in the hammock and read a nice book, or WFH in the backyard on a cool spring morning. If you've got a green thumb, there are plenty of options for growing a garden, or even some fresh food.

The kitchen has ample storage for all your cooking needs, as well as a dishwasher that was installed when I first moved in, a gas range and full sized oven. The island gives plenty of space for preparing any culinary creations. I cook once or twice a week, and have been very pleased to have such a spacious kitchen to work in.

The apartment has a recently renovated bathroom, complete with a multi-option shower setup, and jets in the bath, for a luxurious soak.

There is laundry in the the building (shared with other units) but I've never had an issue with the machines being busy.

The apartment is set up with Verizon Fios, and currently gets ~400Mb down and ~100mb up, so it can easily handle any streaming or video calls that people want to have.

A little about me. I am 31 and a software engineer for a medical trial company. Even before covid, I worked from home ~ 2 days a week. Currently, I am WFH full-time, and I don't really expect that to change. I mostly keep to myself, working and playing video games in my spare time. I am definitely a night-owl, and am usually up until ~2am, though after midnight, I usually use headphones.

Rent is 1,350/mo + utilities. Cats are definitely welcome (and preferred! I love cats, but don't have any of my own) I'd have to talk to the owner about dogs.
