$1250 Furnished room in sunny 2BR in North Slope

Share a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit on the top floor of the building. It's quiet, with friendly neighbors and great light. The room for rent is furnished (full bed, bookshelf, closet, armoire, desk, chair, shelves, drawers in the closet).

The apartment has great features -- a 47" LED flat panel TV with a nice set of speakers, a very comfortable couch, and well-stocked kitchen. If you like to cook, I have a really nice set of pots, pans, appliances, etc.

Rent and Utilities are $1,250/month , which would include utilities and internet. We will split the cost of an occasional cleaner. Security deposit is also $1,250 -- fully refundable when you leave (unless you leave giant holes in the wall or something).

Move in is ideally October 1st. Duration the sublet is negotiable - though looking for someone for at least 3-6 months, possibly longer.

FYI, I am gay. Apartment is LGBT friendly, and I am happy to have a straight, gay, trans, male or female roommate. I have lived in New York for 12 years and currently work in the leadership team of an international non-profit. I have also worked in management consulting and AIDS activism, so have seen many aspects of the city and get along with a wide range of people. I love sharing my knowledge of the city and it's many wonders with new people.

I work hard, so I like a low-key and friendly atmosphere at home. If I'm not out with friends, I like to read or watch TV, and I occasionally have people over for dinner. In my free time, I enjoy museums, performing arts, travel, and staying active. I have sublet in this apartment several times before, so I'm happy to provide references if necessary.
