Description
Looking for a responsible, level-headed roommate to move in as of May 1st.
I’ll get the negatives out of the way first: The walls and carpet have seen better days, it can be drafty in the colder months, and the outside view is of the building next door.
Now, the reasons I like it here:
- In a quiet part of the building, in a mostly quiet neighborhood
- Runyon Canyon is 2 blocks away
- An in-building gym with pretty new Hoist equipment
- Each of the 4 living floors has a laundry room (2 washers and 2 dryers each)
- Covered parking garage with electric vehicle charging (I ride a motorcycle so as long as there’s room for me to squeeze by your car, we won’t have to ever swap spaces)
- Central A/C
- Small pool on the roof
- The apartment is on the bottom living floor, so we can stomp around as much as we want without bothering anyone (the top parking garage is just below)
- Building management keeps the building clean and in working order
- 1-Gig Fiber internet connection (for just over $80 a month, which we’d split)
- Power bill is every other month, and can range from $150-$250 depending on how much we run the AC or space heaters (we’d split that too)
- I looked at rental prices in this immediate area after my former roommate moved out and decided it’s better to stay as long as I can find someone to take over the empty bedroom. This is a great price for the area.
Notes: Your room is unfurnished, though my old roommate left three small 2-drawer dressers which you can use (or I can get rid of, though storage space is valuable in apartments). The building replaced the carpet in that room, and the room also has a walk-in closet and its own bathroom with shower inside (my bathroom is outside my room, for comparison).
It is a ‘no-pet’ building (not that that stops everyone), and you’ll have to submit to a background check, credit check and screening by building management.
The living room is furnished, including a nice 65-inch Samsung smart TV, but the room also served as a good buffer between my old roommate and myself as I’m a morning person while he stayed up late. The two bedrooms are not connected, though sound does travel between open windows across the shared balcony. There’s also a normal kitchen.
I work a hybrid work-from-home job, so I’m usually home with some hours in the office every week. My office setup is in my room, so that’s where I spend a lot of time. I live a very structured life.
$1,107 per month for your half of rent, plus the two utilities mentioned above.
