I have a private room in a 4 bed and 2 bath house. The rest of the home is occupied with 3 guys between 28 and 32 years old including the owner/landlord (me). Unlike most listings, my price includes gas, internet, electric, water, garbage, and multiple streaming platforms. Also included is access to the Co-housing community which is even more unique

This renter will have the opportunity to experience an active social life in this collaborative community of caring neighbors. Each home in this 27-unit development has its own living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and laundry hookups. However there are also shared facilities include a Common House with rooms which can be reserved for guests. There is also a playground, a workshop, veggie garden, orchard of trees (mostly avocado) and an art/yoga/dance studio. There is also a large kitchen and dining area, a community library, media room and more. Access to all of the common area amenities is included for renters. A more introverted person can still enjoy this setup. Don’t let that hold you back. The community was designed to try to mimic the way social groups operated for millennia where one’s pack or people that they live amongst are like their extended family.

This specific available private room in my house is available to one permanent inhabitant. Visitors for a few days a week or an occasional extended visit are fine. The availability room is a downstairs corner room with hardwood floors, a closet, heater and multiple windows. The nearest bathroom is shared with the other downstairs renter. The 2 upstairs rooms share the other bathroom. If selected you will have access to the kitchen, living room, closets, and in-house laundry facilities within the house.

A reserved parking spot can be rented for $50 if desired. Otherwise there is plenty of street parking a bit further away. Pets will be considered on a case by case basis. There are currently no pets in the house.

One current renter works as a cook in Pismo Beach. The other is a Cal Poly graduate who majored and recently worked as a structural engineer and is focused on changing his career path. All of the people in the house are kind, enjoy video-games, outdoors activities, TV shows, watching sports etc. I am a front desk overnight hotel working in Pismo.

Resident must be vaccination against Covid-19 unless they have a medical exemption. The rental contract will begin month to month and require a security deposit, the first/last month rent upfront, references and some recent job history. I don’t require an application or fee. But please respond with some information about yourself (preferably via email) and explain why/how you think you’d be a good fit. If you seem like a promising candidate I’ll arrange a get together.

Regarding term: I setup a month to month contract with first and last month’s rent paid upfront and a $500 security deposit.

Move in date is late April at the earliest.
