Description

Hello!

I'm looking for a young professional (male, female, or non-binary) to share a North Logan Square, newly-renovated apartment. Available June 1. The apartment is on the second floor of a three-story building and tucked slightly off of Diversey. It takes about eight (8) minutes to walk to the Spaulding entrance of the CTA Blue Line and is nearby the Diversey bus. Commuting downtown takes about 32 minutes, including walk time. The area has two coffee shops within five minutes walking distance, is about a 10-minute walk to the Logan Theater, and a 15-minute walk to Logan Square Park and the Boulevard. So, it's a great location!

A little about me: I'm a 27-year-old male who works for a nonprofit. I work 9-5 Monday-Thursday. On Friday I typically work from home, though I like to go to a coffee shop to work for at least part of the day. I'm an easygoing person, who is respectful (probably overly so) of roommates' boundaries and feelings. I want to be friendly with my roommate, but also enjoy privacy. I like relaxing with movies, tv, and reading, though I am also a part of a few organizations that keep me busy during some weekday nights and weekend days?for example, I volunteer at One Tail at a Time (no-kill dog shelter) and Rebuilding Exchange. I tend to go to a concert once a month and enjoy a good cocktail or beer, though I am not a heavy drinker. I also enjoy cooking. Keeping shared spaces clean (kitchen, bathroom, and, to a lesser extent, the living room) is important to me in a roommate. Communication is also key. Having people over to the apartment is okay with some notice. Significant others are also welcome as long as it doesn't feel like they're living there.

*There is a chance that I will get a dog in the future so you would need to okay with that. Alternatively, I'd be open to someone bringing their dog, depending on temperament, etc.

Rent is $880/month plus usual utilities (electric, gas, and internet). These utilities shouldn't exceed $80-$100/month together. Water, trash, and snow removal are included. You would need to pay a $65 application fee and a one-time $295 admin fee instead of a deposit. This process includes soft credit and background checks. This puts you on the lease and gives you access to the property management's portal, where you can request maintenance, etc. The lease would start when you move in (June 1, June 15, or July 1) and would be through May 31, 2020. You would, along with me, be the first tenant in the unit since its renovation! Some notable benefits of the apartment include track lighting, brand-new stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, central A/C and forced air heat, and in-unit washer and dryer(!). The rooms are about equal size (you would have the slightly larger one) and can fit a queen bed, a dresser, a nightstand, and a little more. Each room also has a nice closet with an organization system inside.

Sorry for the long post; I'm just trying to be thorough.
