Fully-furnished, including sheets and towels, large room (c. 14' x 16') in two-floor apartment in 12-apartment French Normandy style apartment building (pre-war New York style interior). Room faces east and courtyard and adjoining deck facing west. Apartment houses over 6000 books, over 2000 classical music CDs, some original art works.

Living room, dining room, kitchen, entry, and half-bath are downstairs on the second floor. Two large decks, one facing east, the other west; three bedrooms and two baths upstairs. The apartment has hardwood floors and crown molding; bathrooms have 1920's tile. Wi-Fi DSL in apartment. (There's a rowing machine on the deck, and a 24-Hour Fitness full gym a few blocks away and smaller gyms close by.)

Parking available in a dedicated, locked one-car garage accessible through rear courtyard..

Easily accessible to Metro, Rapid bus, and local bus lines. (Vermont/Wilshire hub), one to five blocks away. Many supermarkets two-five blocks from apartment; many restaurants, bars, cafes one-five blocks away.

Immediate neighborhood known as Little Bangladesh, surrounded by Koreatown and bordering Thai Town, Little Armenia, Hancock Park-Windsor Square, Little Oaxaca; with many Southern Mexican and Salvadoran shops and restaurants east and south of the immediate neighborhood;

Wilshire Blvd. (two blocks south of apartment) has multi-storied (up to 28 floors) office buildings, and many for-profit colleges, public schools and adult education, and the Southwestern University School of Law is a short walk away. UCLA accessible by 720 Rapid or 20 bus; USC by 754 Rapid or 204 bus.

Rent includes electricity, gas, hot and cold water, and full apartment privileges, incl. use of kitchen, living room and dining room and downstairs WC. Plates, glasses, silverware and kitchen cooking and bathroom cleaning supplies included in price. For longer stays (more than two weeks), guest will be responsible for cleaning her or his own space; the host is responsible for cleaning the room upon departure.

The apartment is in the historical core of Los Angeles (built 1910 and later), and is in a historical and architecturally extraordinary building. The host is very knowledgeable about Los Angeles architecture, live theater, and classical music and cabaret venues.

Host speaks German; can understand Swedish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. Housemate is Filipina novelist, composer and pianist.
