Description
A one-acre property at 4 Meadow Dr, Littleton, is looking for a housemate. Prime location: 3 min fr Acton, 7 min to Market Basket, CVS, Theater & several major shopping malls, I-495 & Rt2
1 fully furnished br (168 sqft + 30 sqft close) w/ access to 1500 sqft 3rd fl attic .
The smaller rm just got rented.
The $850/m includes:
1). Vzn FIOS (300/300), landline phone, No TV.
2). Ut: (water, forced air zone-ctrl HVAC w/ htg & a/c, etc.), A/C outdoor unit needs repair so it'll be hot the next few wks.
3). Driveway.
4). Common area: on-site washer/dryer, living rm, kitchen, sunrm;
5). The liner of the 16' x 38' ingd pl was due for replacement 2018 bef we moved in. I extended its life by 5 yrs until I punctured the bottom). it looks like a swamp. That prj has to wait till fall.
6). I'll consider reduced rent if you can help me w/ your skills.
Note:
1. G. a & bmt r my labs & for veh repair. U can store some in the attic.
2. I just started my lawn redesign prj a wk bef the heat wave & drought hit. The unmowed grasses r withering & ~ a ft tall.
3. We moved in on 7//2018. SpareRoom allows 9 pics. Zillow has more. The pics not shown on Zillow r some of my prj/inventions, like the redesigned ga w/ 3D wall panels & an 'anti-gravity' clock floating in mid-air (Area 51 is a No Trespassing zone for ur safety::). I replaced the pl equipment (compare the pics w/ the ones on Zillow). Those were the good old (2 ya) days. Then I got sick & everything fell apart :(
4. Current residents:
1). My friend Michael: an 82-yo retired EE & computing scientist. An infant prodigy who learned to read & write by age 3 & went to Stanford at 16 on a full scholarship, not paying a penny.
2) I came to MIT in the 90s for my PhD in Bioengineering Dept. I'm a generalist w/ many interests: sustainability causes, the International Math Olympiad, cmptrs, etc. Unlike Michael, I invented real things, like a "safety-over free" way to winterize the pl (uzg instead of the $3000 & paying00 lb Winter Safety Cover, which cost $600 to close & open), & many other efficient/cost-saving ways to upkeep the toys in this high-maint property. I plan to redesign the landscape to make it more beneficial to the ecosystem & less resource-intensive (I hate mowing). The goal is to DO MORE W/ LESS.
3). Besides, I'm caretaking for 3 seniors & 2 cars. One of my gifts is: "If u can break it, I can fix it." Unfortunately, the rest of the household is the opposite: "If u can fix it, we can break it." I'm living w/ seniors who manage to take turns breaking things faster than I can fix; I'm suffering from burnout.
3). Michael & I stay in the finished bmt, so there are almost no activities in the living room & the sunroom.
3. Parents: stay in the 2nd fl master bdrm & return to Hong Kong every winter, so they're here half the time; thus, I count them as one mbr. Mom is almost 80, dad 85. They go to the Senior Center (M-F) (8 a. m. - 1 p. m.).
Michael & I r both kind & laid-back. I'm looking for s. o who shares the same personality & can fit in comfortably.
Right now, more people are looking for affordable rms than available rms. So explain why I should choose u over others. U can do that thru ur own "Room Wanted Ad." so when u msg me, I can see it & know a lot more about u - what u do, ur schedule, etc. It's like a FB profile, except u'r using the Ad to 'sell' urself as a great roommate. If u msg me, "Is the rm still available?" or "Can I come today to check it out?" w/ no self-introduction, it's unlikely I'll respond.
My sister (a non-US citizen) bought the place. She works/lives in HK and lets me manage it. So there's no lease, which complicates her already complicated life. You'll be a mon-to-mon "tenant at will." You pay the 1stt & last mo's rent. Notify me 1 mo ahead.
All terms & agreements are under the state Landlord-Tenant Law (M. G. L. ch: 186) & the state AG's general regulations (title 940 C. M. R. 3.0.1.)
