I'm leaving New York, so I'm looking for someone to take over my room in a two bedroom apartment in Gramercy starting May 1st (flexible to start lease from May 1st to June 1st). My roomate is a professional female in her late twenties.
The apartment has a spacious living room (where I was able to fit my L couch, ottoman, and large dresser), a full kitchen, and two bedrooms. The bedrooms have no windows, but with a 12,000 btu window unit, both rooms are chilly at night, even in the summer.
There is no laundry on site (I was happy to take this for the lower rent), but there is a great laundry place on the same block that does your laundry for ~$0.80 a pound.
The apartment is a few blocks from the L train and a 10 minute walk to Union Square.
Since I'm leaving the city, I am looking to transfer the lease. The lease ends in April of 2019. The landlord requires a credit check and 40x rent in annual income (as is standard in New York), or a co-signer. Since we're close to the date, I'll need someone who is willing to do the paperwork fairly soon. I'll be avalailable during the weekend and early next week for showings.
I?m also willing to leave my bedroom furniture (great Sealy mattress, IKEA frame, and drawers behind).
