Furnished room, private bath, utils included

This apartment is a prewar 2BR/2bath on E 21st. Available room is about 12x13 plus two (2!) closets, and a private bathroom with shower with excellent water pressure. It is furnished with a desk, chair, and a double bed. Room has wood floors, lots of light, three large windows north and west away from the street. It's a beautiful room. Apartment is unrenovated; it has a comfortable living room, and a tiny kitchen.

Building features include elevator, 24 hour doorman, laundry in the basement, super in the building, police station on the block. Convenient to hospitals, NYU, easy walk to midtown or Soho. Incredibly safe, great location.

I'm an Ivy grad and artist, "mature" as they say nowadays, freelancing sometimes at a client studio, lately more often at home. I've lived here since the 90s and it shows, for better or worse. (I took over all the bookshelves.) I'm mildly sociable, but chill and respectful.

I'd like a 3-month minimum stay just so I'm not trying to move someone in during the holidays; however am open to a stay that would end at 1/1. This place can make a great temporary landing place while you search for a lease. Longer term is also great.

Rent per person is $1775 including everything: gas, electric, wireless internet, and holiday tips for the extremely supportive building staff. (No cable tv.) 1 month security deposit required. A college friend talked me into a rescue cat last year, so no other pets, sorry. There is absolutely no smoking in the apartment.
