Description

160' sq. ft. Private room is at the back of the apt and is uniquely laid out with a bigger than king's extra long wall-to-wall lofted bed! Has storage space beneath. There is your own small kitchenette area in your room with a large half fridge and microwave, shelves, drawers and small counter space. As well as sharing the full kitchen and bathroom, you have a wardrobe with shelves, big cool chest (not shown), bookshelves (w or w/out books) and a linen-storage sofa. I am not adverse to rearranging the space with the new roommate if needed. Photos of your room have the view of the only natural forest in Manhattan (Inwood Hill park) - in spring and summertime it sounds like a bird sanctuary in here!

I can't say enough good things about Inwood - it's a real hidden gem hood in Manhattan! It's friendly, safe, diverse and has attracted musicians, actors, artists, professors and students alike and young families. Steps to library, cafes, fledgling health food store, shopping, restaurants, night life, a theater and short walk to Dyckman Farmhouse or the docks to fly kites at the Hudson River or park your Jetski! Chef's Farmers' Market every Saturday a pleasant 3-4 block walk up Seaman ave. During the summer there is FREE kayaking, tai chi, yoga and Shakespeare on the River. Halloween here is a total hoot!
Courtyard entrance to building and Laundry is downstairs through the courtyard. Directly across the street is a church with a wonderful small rose garden, crab apple trees and benches open to the public. It's up on a hill so fairly private and not heavily trafficked.

I'm looking for a contemplative type among the "hunter/gatherers," and unapologetically in firm possession of a pro-humanity-on-Earth bias. It's just me here for now but my 7 yr old daughter is expected to be returning sometime in the summer or fall. She has her own loft space and work/play/reading/crafting spaces so will be staying out of your space and I'll be spending loads of time with her - big yay!!!

Terms negotiable: Looking for responsible, focused individual for this special and unique spot. Asking first months rent and 1 month deposit. Short or long term, month to month lease so everyone is comfortable is fine. I am currently hard at work on a project, There is a veritable library in here and did I say, lots of privacy in your room?
