Description
We are looking for a roommate for a sunny room on the third floor of an elevator building in Inwood, right next to the 1 train at 207th street and a few blocks away from the A train at 207th Street. We are also within walking distance to the University Heights MetroNorth Station.
THE LOCATION: Inwood is a vibrant neighborhood with restaurants from lots of different cuisines within a few blocks of the apartment. Up on Broadway and 207th Street there is an old fashioned malt shop pharmacy, a delicious bagel shop, and an Ethiopian-owned coffee house. Inwood Park is nearby and we are only a 10 minute walk from Fort Tryon Park, with the beautiful Cloisters just past the park.
THE APARTMENT: The apartment is a three bedroom, with a large living room, eat in kitchen, and full bath with a deep tub. The living room already comes with air conditioning installed, and we also have a very good projector for screening films and tv. We also have small and peaceful cat (Stella) who likes to sleep a lot. Our third roommate is currently out of town, as his in-person classes have been cancelled at Fordham - which is only a 10 minute bus ride from the apartment.
THE ROOM: This is a bright front-facing bedroom - 80 square feet. It will come unfurnished with an optional Queen-size mattress. The current roommate has a queen size bed, desk and dresser in the room. I am open as well to different setups for the living room to arrange for a different work area for you.
YOU: Our ideal roommate is working or studying (from home currently), laid back and can keep common areas relatively clean, with an open communication style. In general, we would like someone who doesn?t bring the party home. We are very flexible about ways to work together on noise level issues while working remote, and open to compromise for co-living in a joint space where we are all working from home.
SAFETY: During this time of COVID-19 we have taken precautions to protect the health and safety of the house. We are strict about maintaining safety and looking for a roommate who shares that view. We are looking for a roommate who ideally is working from home and will be able to maintain Level 2 or below (see chart image). Would prefer outdoor exercising limited to around twice a week.
US: I am working from home full-time as an imaging specialist at an archive. I keep 8AM-4PM office hours, and do filmmaking projects as well. Since I have the small bedroom, my desk is in a small nook in the living room. My roommate is returning to the apartment later this summer once he is cleared for travel into NYC. We are both fairly quiet and love cats.
RENT: $975/month with a 1-month security deposit. All utilities are included.
