Nice room for rent

Available. 3 Flight Walk up in the Lower East Side. Nice size 12 by 12 foot simply furnished room with two north facing windows and closet. Air conditioner included. Furnished with a desk, bedside table, chair, large mirror etc. Kitchen and bath are new and you will have reasonable kitchen privileges. Three flights. There is a cat. We are mature quiet adult people who are busy.

The conveniently located apartment is clean, and close to train/bus lines. We are not strictly vegetarian. Smoking of any kind, burning incense or candles is not allowed, nor are bicycles allowed in the building. Use of the roof is forbidden due to fire and safety codes which prevent that.

This is great place for simple living in a complicated city. It's a sanctuary to rejuvenate and relax in. Then go and do what you need or want to do to further your life but don't bring the party back home. Be respectful of the community and other people. References will be asked of you. This is not an air b&b.

Please read the ad carefully. We don't rent to someone who is not in the city. We can't book a roommate far off in the future months from now. We don't do distance renting or showing. Don't have your parents answer the ad.

Apply only if you really are looking for a place to live and can do that with other people in a decent sized 3 bedroom apartment. This lovely room is empty right now. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, ethnicity, sexual choice, or national origin or any other reason. It is for one person only.

A sublease will be signed designating the rent and security deposit for your security and ours. This is all legal and it is a market rate building. We are not absentees or making a profit on prospective roommates. We prefer longer term roommates because we are not an air B&B.

If you are not serious about finding a place to live, do not waste everyone's time.
If you are ageist, sexist, racist, homophobic a misogynist, a proud boy or girl and hateful you will not be happy here. We are none of the above.
Sociological studies find that a mixture in social, living and work communities lead to success. Of course only if they are positive attributes.

Like mindedness doesn't. If you prefer to be with people only close in age to yourself and who are just like you, this is not the setting for you. Some of us are older and some younger. No one has to be just like me or you or anyone.

That said, it takes a good degree of common sense to live in New York City. Contrary to myths this is a city of rules and law. While it is also a place of creativity, intelligence and humanity.
