1 big bedroom with windows and shared office

This is a large double bedroom with three windows and a walk-in closet in a house in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.

The house is spacious and exists over three floors, including an enormous private roof terrace. It is technically a three-bedroom house but the third bedroom is a shared office for yourself and your roomate. It is a seven minute walk to the very green Herbert Von King park, with plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and bars on nearby Tompkins Avenue, Nostrand and Bedford Avenue.

The existing housemate is a busy working professional, working typically from 7-7pm. He spends his time between his home here and his girlfriend's apartment elsewhere in Brooklyn. He's very tidy, friendly and social and has a three year old dog. Personal space is not difficult because the house is so large that there are plenty of zones and privacy.

The ideal roommate would be a similar work-first professional, tidy, friendly, social and someone who likes dogs. We currently pay for a cleaner roughly about one-two times a month and share gas, electricity and internet bills. Water is included.

Two toilets, one upstairs and one downstairs, make living easy.

I'm leaving New York because I was recently laid off my job and I was here on a sponsored visa - but this lease runs until the end of November 2024 - a five month period. Flexible till the end of the lease and extensions. I am extremely sad to leave - not least because this is a wonderful place to live, with an extremely friendly landlord and his family downstairs - but have no choice without a job and visa sponsor. I will miss living with my roommate and hope you apply and enjoy this fantastic property just as much as I did.
