* Very private. The bedroom I’m renting and my bedroom are at opposite ends of the apartment, so they’re very separate (it’s like living in two different apartments).

THE APARTMENT AND BUILDING

* Separate, windowed cooking kitchen. Large stove and fridge, tiled countertop, plenty of space for cooking, and a large window.

* Tiled bathroom with shower/full bathtub.

* Access to the kitchen and bathroom, no shared living room space.

* Wi-Fi access throughout apartment.

* All original brownstone details. Original hardwood floors, high 12-foot ceilings, original moldings, and other pre-war details.

* On the third floor of an 1890s landmark brownstone. On a tree-lined, very quiet block of brownstones.

* Not furnished.

ME AND THE PLACE

* I’m a gen-x female who has been living in the apartment for over 10 years. I’m a nonfiction content editor, often working from home. It’s a pretty quiet place—I’m not a partier (and when I do socialize, it’s almost never here), but I’m also someone who’s not averse to having people over sometimes.

NEIGHBORHOOD AND TRNSPORTATION

* A/C train Clinton-Washington Subway station 4 blocks away; G train Clinton-Washington station about 5 blocks away.

* 10–15 minute walk to BAM / Barclay’s Center / 4, 5, 6, N, R trains (can also transfer for these trains from the close-by A/C); 15-minute walk to Prospect Park; 4 subway stops to Downtown Manhattan.

* 5–10 minute walk to several laundromats, incl. 24-hour laundromat; 1-3 blocks in either direction: 2 supermarkets; Sisters' restaurant, Otway restaurant, Izzy Rose bar, Fulton-Grand bar; health food store; 3 cannabis stores; and more.

REQUIREMENTS

* $875 plus one-month security deposit paid upfront. Utilities not included in rent. Available starting 4/20.

* I’m doing a 15–30 meeting/tour of apartment with people who want to look at the room. If you’re interested in applying after you see the place, I’ll give you a short application. Looking for a one-year commitment.

* Looking for someone who is employed on a full-time basis (or a full-time graduate/PhD student with loans/stipend) and who can provide employment and income verification, references, and additional paperwork. Annual salary/loans should equal at least 40x the monthly rent.
