Description

Looking for professional, financially stable, easy-going roommate to share 2-bedroom apartment in Long Island City with friendly couple.

Apartment is one block from the E, M, 7 trains (Court Square station), and one stop outside Manhattan (53rd and Lexington Ave station). Very cool neighborhood, there's a sweet little park just across the street, and it's close to MoMA P. S.1, Court Square, Vernon Boulevard (nice restaurants, bars, and shops), and Gantry Plaza State Park--hands down the most beautiful park in the city with the most breathtaking views! Post office, supermarket, laundromat, diner, deli, Dunkin' Donuts, are all within walking distance.

About the apartment: Bedrooms are located on opposite ends (with the bathroom, kitchen, and living room in between), so you will have your privacy. It is on the ground floor (no stairs to climb!) in a walk-up building, away from the street (so it is quiet--although THIS IS New York City: insert shrugged shoulders emoji). Super lives in the building. Room is small but cozy and fully furnished with a full-size bed, decent size closet (with optional extra clothing rack, if needed), bureau, chair and side table. Monthly rent is $1,250, utilities included (water/gas/electric/internet). A security deposit is required with first month's rent ($2,500 total--certified check or money order), rental application, and references.

About us: We are both working professionals/creatives, sometimes working from home, other times leaving the house super early in the morning. We both have busy lives and are easy-going, cool, friendly, respectful, kind, and courteous. Between us, we love to do yoga, love to eat, explore the city, travel, enjoy different cultures, and love dogs (although the building does not allow it, so forget it :( We spend a lot of time in the city, but like to come home to a quiet, peaceful space--also, it is a family-oriented building so no partiers, please.

You: have a steady 9-5 job/income (or your parents do--students welcome!), you pay rent on time and have a life outside the apartment. Overall, you are thoughtful and kind (and funny, if we're lucky!). You are clean and tidy by nature, and help maintain shared spaces (wash your own dishes, put things back where you found them, etc.). You are not big into cooking. You take pride in living in a positive and pleasant environment. (Also, we are in the habit of taking off our shoes when we come in the door so please do the same).

Apartment is small overall but very well-appointed and nicely decorated. This is the perfect place for someone looking for a safe, comfortable, and convenient place to hang your hat while you go about your busy life.

Please let us know a little bit about yourself (a social media account is helpful) and we'll contact you if we think you are a good fit.

No smokers, pets, loudmouths, drunks, mean drunks, drug addicts, couch potatoes, or general whack jobs. Thanks!
