Bedroom in 2 Bed 2 Bath Apartment with Cats! :)

—Background
I am looking for a roommate to take over the other bedroom in my 2-bed 2-bath apartment here in South Austin! My current roommate is hoping to move into a different place, so it will be available for move-in starting in May 2024 as she’s looking to get her leased signed over to someone!

—Apartment Complex
These are the Highland Hill Country apartments, located in the Sunset Valley area of Austin! It has a pool, gym, package center, free parking, and plenty of walking space through the whole parking lot with grassy spots where people walk their dogs. There’s a walking trail right outside the complex, an HEB in walking distance, and a bus stop right outside the front gates!

There’s plenty of parking space, and there’s covered parking and garages available for an extra fee. The apartment is located right at the entrance of the complex, and we’re only a short walk from the dumpster. Also, this apartment is on the first floor! I’ve never personally had any issues with our neighbors, and all the neighbor dogs are very cute. Maintenance requests are also very easy and quick to get things fixed. Downtown is a 20-minute drive, and about a 1-hour bus ride.

—Apartment Details
This apartment is 1,093sqft, with the bedrooms on opposite sides of each other so we basically have two separate halves of the place. Each room has its own bathroom. It has grey carpet, a walk-in closet, and a big window looking out at the pool with enough sunlight to grow plants. If you would like to look for the floor plan on the website, it’s the D1 layout.

For the shared space, there is a dining room, a living room, and the kitchen. These areas are fully furnished with my things, which are of course open to use! There’s a comfy dining table, a big sofa in the living room, a projector I use for TV (I usually use chrome cast for it, but other things can be hooked up as well). The kitchen is basically fully stocked too, but there’s definitely room for your own things if you’d like. I’m totally up to discussion about sharing tools if you’d like! There’s also a washer and dryer in a closet near the entrance, which work great!

I have 2 cats! Unfortunately no other pets can be allowed, as the lease only allows 2 max. The cats are very sweet and love attention, so if you’d like they would love to play with you. We can absolutely discuss any preferences you may have regarding them, as they currently have free reign over the house, but of course if you’d like them to be kept out of your room at certain times, etc, we can work with that!

—About Me
I have a full-time 9-5 office job where I work from home half of the week, and I feel like I’d be best described as a shy extravert. I like to meet new people, but I’m also definitely a homebody. I’m totally fine with whether you’d prefer to stay to yourself, or if you’d like us to be more friendly! As long as we seem to be a good fit, I feel like I’ve been able to live well with lots of different people.

I don’t personally like to drink, however I don’t mind if you do! I’m also a morning person, however I don’t like to play music or anything out loud unless it’s in a closed room. I enjoy cooking, and we can definitely discuss sharing dinners if that’s something you’re interested in.

I would prefer for my apartment to stay a LGBTQIA+ safe space, and I am pretty liberal so I hope that jives with you! I am okay with any gender, as long as we’re a good fit. Also *please note!* I have a general plan to move out when my lease ends in February 2024.

Average Monthly Cost: $997-$1,022

Both of us can access the rental account to pay rent, but the utility and internet are both accounts under my name. We would split the monthly cost 50/50, and we can discuss the method we do that. With my current roommate we Venmo each other so we both end up paying the same amount.
