Male for Share House @ Braddock Metro

Male, non-smoker wanted to share a house 1.5 blocks from the Braddock Metro in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria. A perfect place for someone who is new to the DC area. We're looking for someone who plans to be here for at least a year.

About the area: Great neighborhood, very safe. Within walking distance are: metro station, several restaurants, great coffee shops, deli, grocery store, decent pubs, and Old Town Alexandria. Short bike ride to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Aldi’s.

About the house & room: Single family home with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, WIFI, washer & dryer, backyard and driveway. The room coming open is on the second floor. It has basic furnishings (bed, dresser, desk, chair, lamp) in case you don't have stuff yet.

We're looking for someone who is basically social and fairly neat; someone who enjoys living with other people and makes an effort to show some interest in his housemates. Less interested in "I'm the perfect housemate because I'm never around type" or folks who prefer virtual friends to real ones.

The kitchen is pretty much family-style: we keep the basics stocked communally/informally ie: if you eat the last of the cheerios, you buy the next box. Ditto with the sandwich meat, beer, or butter, detergent etc.

Everyone is on different schedules but we do try to eat together from time to time, either all four of us or subsets of the whole group. Like if you're making spaghetti, for instance, it’s just as easy to cook noodles for two as it is for one. It’s nice to share sometimes and it’s usually funner to eat with someone than alone.
