We have a spare bedroom and bathroom for rent. It’s located in our sunny basement and we’re primarily in the main floor. Bedroom is well lit and equivalent to the size of a master bedroom. Room located right outside of its own separate basement kitchen that you’d have to yourself (minus part of the fridge that we may use to store our small amount of overflow food). Kitchen is fully furnished and stocked with all kitchen plates/glasses/pots/pans. New large bedroom closet includes shelving, multi-height hanging rods, and drawers.

About us: We have 2 small boys (3 and 6), a dog, and a cat. You would have your own entrance at the back of the house which leads into a shared laundry room and then a living space, the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are downstairs. There is a large living room in the basement that is currently set up as a play room for the boys but we can set up hours that are convenient for them to be down there. We’re located 3 miles directly North of the UW campus off of Roosevelt. Very easy bus access to get you all around the city. Close to the Northgate and Roosevelt light rail stations.

A few important things to note about the space:
1) We have nowhere else to store the bed, desk and nightstand so this would be most suitable for someone who doesn’t already own a bed. You’ll still have most of the room to furnish if you’d like. Preference for the decor to stay in the room as is, but not required. There is also a small dining table in the kitchen for you and you’re welcome to watch TV in the living room.

2) My boys are sweet, fun-loving, but silent they are not. We will minimize noise whenever possible, but pitter patters of footsteps and giggles (occasionally cries) will be heard below. We have priced the rent accordingly, but if this will bother you please take that into consideration.
3) Our basement has low ceilings that may be uncomfortable for those over 6 feet tall. The living room is normal height but some of the beams in the bedroom, hallway, and kitchen are about 6’ from the ground. If you’re under 6’ tall you’re golden!

4) The kitchen and bathroom are pretty much just for your use only but occasionally our older son will use the restroom or we’ll use the next door bedroom for a work meeting, play space, or another visiting guest. We hope you’ll be welcoming and flexible. All of the guests we might have visit would definitely be the same, but we don’t have guests over very often.
